Bishop, Dr. Leroy V. Greenaway

Leroy Victor Stephen Greenaway was born and raised in Trinidad and Tobago. He is the fifth child of eight children to William David and Carmen Greenaway. He was converted at the early age of twelve, a second-generation Church of God of Prophecy preacher. Leroy began preaching around the age of fourteen and was called to his first pastorate at the age of nineteen.

After attending school in Trinidad where he majored in the languages, he then migrated to Cleveland Tennessee, USA where he attended Tomlinson College and Lee University respectively.  He graduated from Lee University in 1981 with a BA in Sociology, magna cum laude and a minor in Biblical Studies. In 2010 he graduated from the Palmer Theological Seminary with a Master of Divinity degree and graduated from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary in May 2019 with a Doctor of Ministry degree.

A minister in the Church of God of Prophecy, Leroy has travelled extensively, preaching the gospel throughout the Caribbean, the US, Canada and England, serving as evangelist, camp meeting speaker, and youth camp evangelist.

​

In 1985 he migrated to Toronto, Canada to take up a position as Youth Pastor of the Pape Avenue Church of God of Prophecy.  The same year he was asked to accept a pastorate in Montreal, Quebec.  After 17 years the Montreal West congregation grew from 89 to over 300 under the ministry of Bishop Greenaway.   In July 2002 he was appointed as Regional Overseer to the Mid-Atlantic Region, where he served for 12 years.  On December 1st, 2014 he was reassigned to the North East Region where he presently serves the areas of Bermuda, Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New York, Rhode Island and Vermont.

He is married to the former Christina Kelly of Birmingham, England, also a graduate of Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary.  They are blessed to have two children, Jessica a graduated 2019 with a Master of Education in School Counselling.  Their son James graduated from Eastern University, with his BA in Communications and is pursuing his MA in Organizational Management.

Bishop, Brian Sutton

Bishop Dr. Brian Sutton serves the Church of God of Prophecy as North America Ministries’ general presbyter. He administrates 26 state/regional bishops who connect directly with over 1700 local congregations throughout Canada, the United States, and Bermuda. He is married to Renee. They have two children, one son-in-law, and two wonderful granddaughters.

Bishop Sutton’s previous roles included state bishop of Alabama, executive director of Leadership Development and Discipleship for the global church, and pastor for more than 25 years, including senior pastor of Peerless Road Church in Cleveland, Tennessee. He currently serves as a member of the Administrative Committee and Corporate Board of Directors for the international Church of God of Prophecy. He is a member of the Pentecostal Charismatic Churches of North America (PCCNA) Discipleship Commission.

Bishop Sutton earned an Associate of Science in Ministry from Tomlinson College in Cleveland, Tennessee, and a Bachelor of Science in Organizational Management from Covenant College in Lookout Mountain, Georgia. He also earned a Master of Arts in Church Ministries from Pentecostal Theological Seminary, where he was selected alumnus of the year in 2018. He obtained both a Master of Arts in Religion and a Doctor of Ministry in Global Pentecostalism from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary.

Dr. Sutton is a prolific author. His first two books, Discovering Holiness: A Quest for God and Prevailing Prayer: Developing a Lifestyle of Conversation with God, were published by White Wing Books in 2014. In 2016, White Wing Publishing offered Dr. Sutton’s third book, The Minister’s Pocket Manual: Church of God of Prophecy Edition. In 2017, Broadstreet Press published Conversation with God: The Power of Prevailing Prayer. Next came his inspirational book on whole-life, practical mentoring, Practice These Things: Mentor Ministry Manual (White Wing Books, 2018). Additionally, Bishop Sutton is the co-author of Membership Matters, the Church of God of Prophecy’s church membership curriculum. He is also a contributing writer for Foundations: Minister’s Development Program and the Church of God of Prophecy National/State/Regional Bishop’s Manual.

Bishop, Tim Coalter

Bishop Tim Coalter serves as the presiding bishop of the Church of God of Prophecy. He is a leader of leaders, providing inspirational leadership to the COGOP general presbyters, national bishops, and members in 135 nations of the world.

 

Prior to his selection as presiding bishop at the 2022 International Assembly, Coalter served the state/regional/national bishops and more than 1700 local churches throughout the US, Canada, and Bermuda as North America general presbyter. He served in that capacity from 2014 to 2022. Prior to that, Bishop Coalter served 28 years in pastoral ministry and six years as the state bishop of South Carolina. He and his wife Kelly married in 1979 and presently reside in Cleveland, Tennessee. They have been blessed with three children and eight grandchildren.
